Claris's Father is an unseen minor character in NiGHTS into Dreams, who is an influence for how some of his daughters levels are shaped.
About[]
Claris's Father never appears in the game, nor is he ever mentioned. However, the NiGHTS into Dreams Japanese website does confirms that he exists and that some of Claris's levels are connected to him.
In the NiGHTS into Dreams Japanese Website, there is a section describing all of the music tracks in the game. In the description of Spring Valley's theme, Paternal Horns, it is stated that Spring Valley expresses the image of Claris's Father and the track is called "Paternal Horn" because "paternal" means fatherly, and the horn refers to the one used in the track.[1]
Additionatly, there is also a section in the website describing Nightopia. In this section, it is stated that mountains in Nightopia represents the conversion in the space of a strong reliance on the father.[2] The Website also has a section describing the Nightmare World, and in this section, it is stated that Nightmare creates a world with the anger of a violent mountain for a person with a strong reliance on their father.[3] Although there is no mention of Claris's Father, it is safe to assume that these quotes are refering to him and the mountain referred in the website are the montains seen in Spring Valley. Thus, Claris can be assumed to be very reliant on her Father.
Archie Comics[]
Claris's Father makes a small appearance in the fourth issue of the NiGHTS Archie Comics series, where he brings his daughter to school.
It should be noted though, that the Archie Comics are a different canon and that Claris's Father may look different in the game's series.
