Dr. Ivo Robotnik, better known by the alias, Doctor Eggman, is a human with an IQ of 300 who dreams of dominating the world and the main antagonist of the Sonic the Hedhehog series. His constant plots to create his Eggman Empire are always thwarted by Sonic and his friends.

NiGHTS into Dreams[]
In NiGHTS into Dreams, there's a score board in every level with the name of Sonic characters, which includes Eggman's name. With 2.000 points in each level, Eggman appears in fifth place in all of the score boards.
Christmas NiGHTS into Dreams[]
Eggman makes an appearance as a boss parodying Puffy in the Sonic the Hedgehog into Dreams... mini game from Christmas NiGHTS into Dreams. Appearing after Sonic collecting all of the Ideyas in the Christmas NiGHTS version of Spring Valley.

His battle is identical to Puffy's in NiGHTS into Dreams, where the player must grab and throw Eggman throughout Puffy's mansion until they reach the end of it, where there will be a shelf. By throwing Eggman under it, the support will break, causing him to get smashed between the wall and the tumbling shelf.
The boss theme is a remix of the final boss battle theme from the Japanese and European version of Sonic CD with some bits of Puffy's theme in it called "Rolling Eggman".

- In Sonic Unleashed, it is possible to notice in a few cutscenes that Eggman has a Sega Dreamcast and a few games on his Eggmobile. In one of the scenes, it is possible to notice that NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams is among the games.[1]
- The music track "Rolling Eggman", which was used for the Eggman boss battle in Christmas NiGHTS into Dreams, is present in the gamefiles of the Playstation 2 version of NiGHTS into Dreams.[2] However, the music file was never used,[2] and of course, the mini game where Eggman was featured is not present in the game.
- Eggman is one of the four non-NiGHTS characters to appear in NiGHTS related media, the other two are Sonic the Hedgehog from the series with the same name, Knuckles the Echidna and Akira Yuki from the Virtua Fighter series.
- Eggman is the only boss in the NiGHTS series who wasn't faced by NiGHTS.
- Bizarrely, both Puffy and Eggman laugh when they are defeated, that is, when they are about to get crushed, the reason for that is unknown.
