The Mecha NiGHTS (name not confirmed, fan given nickname) is a scrapped feature that was planned to appear in NiGHTS into Dreams. As the name suggests, the Mecha NiGHTS is a robotic version of NiGHTS.
About
The Mecha NiGHTS was discovered in the gamefiles of both the Sega Saturn and the Playstation 2 versions of NiGHTS into Dreams, by a dataminer.[1][2]
The Mecha NiGHTS was found among the DAL_PS2_OBJ_ST6 files.[1] Therefore, the robot was planned to be featured in the Stick Canyon level.[1]
The Mecha NiGHTS was a remote-control toy that the Nightopians in Stick Canyon would play with.[3]It is currently unknown why the robot was scrapped.

Trivia
- The Mecha NiGHTS is similar to Metal Sonic from the Sonic the Hedgehog series, Zero Beat from the Jet Set Radio series and Evila from the Space Channel 5 series (three other Sega franchises), as they are all robotic versions of their game's respective protagonists.
- Despite the robot being in the gamefiles of the Sega Saturn version of the game, the Mecha NiGHTS was only ever discovered on September 2021, 25 years after the release of the game.
