Mothpils are moth-like Nightmarens and enemies that only appeared in NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams.

Physical Appearance[]
Mothpils have an orange Moth head with green eyes, blue and purple spots and red, blue and purple antennas. They have four round red wings with pink and purplish-blue spots.
Personality[]
Like most of the third level Nightmarens, Mothpils are agressive and act like vicious animals. Also, when they see Nightopians, Mothpils won't stop chasing them until they eat them.

Flight
Like most of the Nightmarens, Mothpils are shown to be capable of flying.
Red Energy Ring
Mothpils can shoot red energy rings which will hurt NiGHTS and Will if they enter in contact with it.
History[]
NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams[]
Mothpils can only be found in Delight City. When they see NiGHTS, Mothpils will shoot a slow red energy ring at them, which will damage NiGHTS and make them lose five seconds.
In Delight City's second mission, the Mothpils invade the city to turn it in a base for the Nightmaren's invasion to Nightopia. The player has to defeat all of the Mothpils in the level.
In Delight City's fourth mission, the Mothpils will try to attack Will as he tries to guide Helen through the level. Will can protect himself by tossing Blue Chips at them.
Defeating a Mothpil will add 100 points for the player's score.
Mepian
Mothpil Mepian.
The Mothpil Mepians has a head identical to Mothpil's, except they have bigger green eyes and they keep the Nightopian's halos. The head also comes with Mothpil's antennas. The Torso is orangish red. Their arms are orange, and their hands and feet are yellow with a blue spot. They also have two small Mothpil wings.

Trivia[]
- Mothpils behavior is similar to Hollow's from NiGHTS into Dreams, as both shoot a projectile at NiGHTS. However, while Hollow's energy orb is small, fast and travels long distance, Mothpil's red energy ring is big, slow and travels short distance.
